Austin Winter League is meant to be a fun league that emphasizes good spirit and teaching new players. We need Captains that will take their responsibilities at least semi-seriously.

Duties include:

o Emailing your team at least once per week
o Showing up to at least 80% of the games
o Coordinating with your co-captian (if any)
o Teaching new players and encouraging all players to teach and support each other
o Making sure every player gets adequate playing time regardless of their skill level
o Submitting a team name by the end of the first week
o Keeping a score sheet for every game played

Most Team Captains will be paired together with a Co-Captain. Pairings will be done to give teams a compliment of captaining skills. Some captains are great on-field leaders, but less inclined to tend to the administrative side of the job. Others are just the opposite. Spring League encourages both types to volunteer. Sign-up fees are not waived for Captain volunteers because, 1) Winter League is a fundraiser, and 2) Captianing a team should be considered a priviledge, not a means of escaping the registration fees.
