This new website is just one product of the new organization in town for Austin Ultimate called UPLA (pronounced YOU-play). It stands for the Ultimate PLayers League of Austin. Boston has BUDA, LA has LAOUT, Houston has HUC and now Austin has UPLA.

Formed more than a year ago, UPLA has already brought you better Leagues, more and better run tournaments...including three new Indoor tournaments this year.

In a nutshell, the purpose for UPLA can be summed up as follows:

- To serve as a unifying resource for the support and development of Ultimate in Austin, Texas
- To run numerous tournaments and leagues throughout the course of the year
- To serve as a web-based, e-mail and general resource for individuals seeking opportunities to play Ultimate
- To support local teams (i.e., adult, collegiate and juniors) through technical and limited financial assistance
- To communicate with and link together other regional Ultimate associations
- To actively seek the procurement of lighted fields for use by the local Ultimate community
- To build the sport through skills clinics, volunteer coaches for school teams and beginner-level leagues
