What is ultimate?
Ultimate is an intense sport that combines the athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football. A game of Ultimate is played by two seven-player squads with a flying disc (Frisbee) on a field similar to a football or soccer field.
The object of the game is to score by catching a pass in your opponents’ end zone. It’s a transition game where teams shift from offense to defense on turnovers that occur either with a dropped pass, an interception, or when a player is caught holding the disc for more than 10 seconds.
Ultimate is an international sport with more than 100,000 players worldwide, and almost every city in North America has a recreational league that allows beginners and expert players to participate with an emphasis on fun. The vast majority of these recreational players are between the ages of 18-35, and the majority teams in these leagues are co-ed.
