Ddub Down Under

On the strength of our finish at the 2005 UPA Championships, Doublewide has qualified for the World Ultimate Club Championships in Perth , Australia in November 2006.  World Clubs only happens every 4 years and it is quite an honor to be selected. The tournament starts on Saturday November 11 with an Opening Ceremony and Opening Showcase Game. Pool Play begins Sun Nov 12 and the tournament is 7 days, 2 games a day.  Doublewide will be a highly seeded team and have their sights set on a World Title.

 

We are currently seeking corporate and private sponsors to help make our trip to world's in Australia a reality.

 

We expect cost per player to be over $2,300 and are actively seeking sponsors.  Our goal is to raise $12,000 to cover all player/team costs other than flight (we would like to try to cover all costs but that seems too aggressive).  We are planning fundraisers including two summer hat tournaments (we hope to raise ~$800 each), two summer parties (we hope to raise ~$400 each), and two Houston indoor tournaments (we hope to raise ~$400 each).  We are exploring the possibility of a "big ticket item" raffle.  We plan to ask for corporate sponsorship as well as corporate and private donations.
