Chewbacca Defense Invititation

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Ultimaters,
Chewbacca Defense, Texas’ premier coed team, would like to invite you to join us Sunday, March 30th for some high level coed pickup to be followed by a brief informational meeting regarding Chewy in 2008.  The captains have been set for the season and we are looking to build off last year’s momentum of making it to Nationals in just our second year of existence. We’d love to have you out for some quality and fun ultimate at 11 AM at Whitaker Fields (51st and Guadalupe) .  After that (approximately 12:30), we’ll have a brief meeting and Q&A session with the captains and then head to Phil’s Icehouse on Burnet from some quality burgers and fries.  We hope you’ll come join and learn about our expectations and plan for the upcoming club season.  The returning core is large and we are all excited for another fun and competitive season.  Please come out and play and learn about Austin’s up and coming Coed team. Feel free to pass this along to anyone you think might be interested as well.

Also, if you can’t make, but are looking to get info on the team, please email me (Matty) and I’ll be sure to include you on any info emails we send out.
Thanks,
Don, Vanessa and Matty

Players of all skill levels are welcome, too.  It’s fun, friendly competition on some sweet fields about 20 minutes away for most people.  See the Spring League link at right for more information.

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Austin Winter League is finished with its regular season schedule as of last week.  Next weekend, (Feb 9-10) AWL will hold its season ending blowout party Saturday and then Sunday play the tournament.  That leaves this Sunday open for us to go crazy with a mini-hat tourney.  Games start at 11:00 AM and are open to everyone.  Expect to play 3 hour-long games and then rush off to watch the superbowl.  There is no cost so come on out and mix-it-up Austin Winter League style.  Visit the Austin Winter League link at right to find directions to the fields.  We will play on the “lower fields” (fields 1-4) that are located on Johnny Morris Road.  Hope to see you there.
